The Ventura Area College Fair was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Main Street Gym at Ventura High School. Though it was open to all Ventura Unified School District students and families, VHS hosted the event. 61 colleges and universities participated in the Ventura Area College Fair, in addition to five U.S. military branches and the Ventura Police Department. The event offered the break-out sessions “Apply Broadly: Building a well-rounded college list” at 6 p.m., “College Affordability: Financial Aid 101” at 6:30 p.m. and “From Stress to SUCCESS: Finding the Perfect College and How to Pay for It” at 7 p.m. College & Career Counselor and Ventura Area College Fair organizer Patricia Roberts said, “[The Ventura Area College Fair] is an annual event that allows local high school students the opportunity to meet with college representatives from across the country all in one night.
