A quick run through the Diddy rabbithole
Sean John Combs, also known as P Diddy, has recently been accused of serious crimes like sex trafficking and forced labor. The internet, mainly on YouTube, TikTok and X, has been going wild over these accusations. There are also other celebrities being accused of participating in Diddy’s crimes like Beyoncé, leading to Beyoncé losing over four million followers on her Instagram due to these serious accusations revolving around Diddy, even if it hasn’t been fully proven to be true yet. There’s a lot of rumors going on about this situation, but it’s better to focus on the facts.
Unfortunately, this has been the case since 2016. On March 15, 2016, security camera footage caught Diddy beating singer Cassandra Elizabeth Ventura inside a hotel hallway in Los Angeles California. People are just now catching on to Diddy’s acts which is incredibly disappointing since this has been going on for around eight years, and he is just now being put behind bars. Diddy is expected to be set in prison for a minimum of 15 years to a life sentence, which is greatly deserved. As of right now, Diddy is faced with about 132 law suits, including about 120 allegations of sexual assault.
Recently, Diddy has been recorded to have about a thousand bottles of baby oil inside his home. This is one of the pieces of evidence that have made people confused and wonder what is going on with Diddy. Diddy’s lawyer has made an explanation on why Diddy owns so much baby oil. Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo said, “I don’t think it was a thousand bottles; I think it was a lot. I mean, there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk, as we know.” Mostly everyone who is diving into this situation on the internet thinks Agniflo’s claims are just lies, which should be bluntly obvious. A thousand bottles of baby oil are the confirmed number from the government, and there is no reason Diddy should have that much baby oil in the first place.
Biology teacher Nathanael Donnelly said, “I guess considering what was going on, I think it’s probably to be expected. Once you know what is going down, it checks out.” For some, this might have been expected from Diddy already due to accusations before he was caught with the baby oil. Donnelly said, “I’m not that surprised, but it’s possible that people would get caught up in ways that are hard to understand without the context.”
The baby oil situation has been one of the biggest shocks on the internet. People have been online making jokes about the thousand bottles of oil situation, completely forgetting about the other allegations Diddy has been facing. John Casterline on YouTube said, “One thousand of anything in someone’s home is something I just never thought I would hear unless it’s like in a middle school math equation.”
Although this has been a huge meme on the internet, some may argue that the baby oil situation isn’t as serious as some say. Rebecca Mueller ‘28 said, “I feel like it’s not our place to tell Diddy what he should or should not be doing with his money.” Even though owning large amounts of baby oil is very weird and questionable, it’s not a crime. Mueller said, “I guess if he’s having fun, it’s okay.” Diddy spending money on large quantities of baby oil isn’t the biggest problem in this case, even though the jokes are funny, the baby oil shouldn’t be the biggest concern that people have compared to the other allegations Diddy is facing as mentioned before.
