Sabrina Carpenter’s New Album “Man’s Best Friend” is Her Best One Yet.

On Aug. 29, Sabrina Carpenter released her brand new album Man’s Best Friend and it was a hit. This is a fantastic overall album and has no bad songs on it with and average score of 8.95/10. Sabrina Carpenter superfan and self proclaimed “Carpenter” Kona Kaaihue ‘28 said, “The album was incredible, immaculate and life changing. It is my personal favorite of all her albums.
Sabrina Carpenter does a great job in this album of having a mix of the slow and more serious songs with the faster and more fun songs. All the songs have the perfect length with none being too long or too short. VHS music teacher Hailey Cervantes said, “I like how short the songs are because the attention span of most people these days is about two minutes and 40 seconds, the same length of the songs.”
The best songs on this album are definitely House Tour, Manchild and Tears. However, the best song on the album is easily House Tour. This song has a very fun and upbeat vibe to it, and the metaphors are very fun and enjoyable. One of the other best songs on the album is Tears which is a fantastic song that also uses many metaphors. Kaaihue said, “Tears generally have a negative connotation, but the way [Carpenter] sings about them makes it positive.” Lastly, Manchild is a great song that talks about how a lot of men are often very childish in romantic relationships. She gets this message across in the song through a fun and upbeat song. Cervantes said, “Manchild is my favorite because it’s a catchy and fun one, and then I also like the TikTok dance to it.”
Another big part of this album’s release was the controversy around the cover art for the album. This was a very silly controversy because the cover art is closely related to the contents of the album. Carpenter said in an interview with CBS, “[The album cover] is perfect for what the album is, it’s perfect for you know what it kind of represents.”
Kaaihue said, “She’s a grown woman and can do what she wants.”
