Once you’re in high school, don’t you think you’d be over dressing up for Halloween? I don’t care whether other people do it, it’s fun to dress up, but it seems so weird to go house to house as 17, 18 and 19 year olds, and say “trick-or-treat,” and ask for candy.
Parties and get-togethers with people and friends are very fun, and dressing up can be a nice way to be silly, but going out to ask for candy just seems odd to me. The whole controversy of wearing costumes at school was so bizarre to me as well. I for one don’t want to walk around sweating in a hot costume all day.
Then while tricking or treating, you get so many weird looks from people, and some won’t give you candy at all. Also, it’s somewhat unsettling to see a group of ten to fifteen teenagers or young adults walking around in costumes. I would think that makes some people a little uneasy.

You’re never too old to dress up for Halloween. Last year I dressed up as Snow White wearing a chimp mask with a cowgirl hat. I called myself “Snow Chimp.”
You don’t even have to be elaborate with your costume, you can simply throw stuff on and go for it. You can hang out with your friends or go trick-or-tricking, you just have to get into the spirit. It’s fun. You can even wear a costume just to give out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters. Imagine opening that door and seeing horrified or happy faces.
Personally, I want to see old people dressed up, young people dressed up and so many other people dressed up. It’s just a fun thing to do.
Halloween is an old tradition, and now it’s mostly for corporations to sell candy, but I believe that Halloween is fun and should be celebrated. You don’t stop celebrating Christmas after you realize Santa Claus isn’t real. I’m sorry if you still believe in Santa Claus and I broke the news to you.
I’m eighteen and will continue to dress up for Halloween. This year is the return of Snow Chimp, so keep an eye out for me.
