Mr. Baest visits Ventura High School for the $1 Million Challenge! The news has spread through VHS like wildfire. Mr. Baest the legendary YouTuber was coming to campus for a surprise event. Students will be gathered in the gym, where a massive stage will be set up with flashing lights, cameras and a giant $1,000,000 banner. The announcement was simple: three challenges, one winner, one million dollars. These challenges had been revealed as the following.
Challenge 1: The impossible brain scrambler scavenger hunt
Students were tasked with solving a giant, school-wide scavenger hunt. Clues were hidden in classrooms, lockers, roofs and even on the football field. The first ten students to complete the hunt will advance to the next challenge .
Celia Wazowski ‘27 said, “I’ve been doing puzzles and things like that ever since I was little so I bet you anything that I’m winning the first challenge and moving on.”
Challenge 2: Drop your hand and you’re out
The remaining students will be faced an intense endurance challenge: holding a brick in each hand with their arms outstretched. With hours passing, Mr. Baest will wait for one by one, students giving up. There will only be three finalists remaining . Mr. Baest had predicted that he would only be waiting for around ten minutes because most students aren’t that strong.
Challenge 3: The Ultimate Trivia Showdown
The final challenge will be a high-stakes trivia game focused on random facts, including pop culture, science and Mr. Baest’s own YouTube videos.
Dexter Morgan ‘28 is predicted he will be eliminated early but didn’t mind. “Honestly I don’t even care about winning. I’m just excited to meet Mr. Baets and maybe he will bring his friend Raze Fug.”
Many students are not sure whether to get excited that they will have a chance to win or prepare themselves for a loss of this money because only one student will walk away with one million dollars. (The terms and conditions are that if you win taxes will be applied to the earnings and you will be left with approximately 0.01% of the earnings in total will be one hundred dollars.)
