Introducing the senior class and their hopes and dreams for the year
The senior class of 2026 has gone through their first month of high school, enjoying the fun and freedoms of being a senior. The senior class is due to graduate on June 3, 2026. Seniors are getting ready for the events to come, last football games, homecoming, food fairs and extracurricular classes.
Naima Tovar ‘26 said, “I’m looking forward to hanging out with my friends and doing sports, as I do girls flag football.”

Although, with the fun comes the weight of college. The school has been preparing college prep-classes and the college and career center has opened their door to any seniors planning on applying to colleges. Students spend time sending college applications in the next months, getting ready for the next chapter of their lives.
Chet Hubb ‘26 said, “I’m feeling optimistic about it and I know that we are going to get it done and finish strong.”
Senioritis is a term that means, seniors get tired and just stop having the motivation to go to school. As the school year progresses, students find it hard to find the motivation to continue to go as it gets close to the end.
Avery Hale ‘26 said, “I have had senioritis from the beginning.”
The senior class also welcomes the freshman class of 2029. They had an orientation where upperclassmen students got them situated, helping with adjustments from moving from a middle school to a high school. Seniors also gave advice to the freshman class.
Carter Hall ‘26 said, “Don’t burn yourself out so early because freshman year is the easiest year and then after that it just all picks up. Do the stuff and don’t stress about it, because there will be stuff to stress about in the future.”
The VHS staff also will be saying goodbye to another class. Preparing them to go off into the world, whether that be college, gap years or just figuring out their place in the world.
Teacher Justin Weber said, “Just start getting in the habit of being responsible for yourselves and staying up on your business. Looking out for yourself and advocating for yourself. For most of you, keep going where you are going academically, don’t lose sight of the long run goal by getting lazy toward the end.”
