Baltimore Ravens deny Maxx Crosby trade after failed physical
Las Vegas Raiders Defensive End Maxx Crosby was reportedly being traded to the Baltimore Ravens on Friday March 6th. Some Raiders fans were heartbroken that a beloved player would be leaving the team, while other fans thought that the trade would be beneficial for the team and would make room for new young talent in the NFL. The reason for the failed trade was because Crosby was unable to successfully complete a physical when he was in Baltimore due to past medical issues with his meniscus in his left knee, where he underwent surgery in January. Now, Crosby has a good chance of coming back to Vegas where he will play his 8th season in the NFL.
In the 2025-26 NFL season, Crosby put up 10 sacks with getting one almost each game he played. Also, he made 28 assist tackles and made his first interception of his career during the season as well according to the official ESPN stats on Crosby. This past season was really eventful to watch Crosby on the Raiders where they had a losing record of 3-14, one of their worst seasons since 2014. However, watching Crosby perform defensively on the raiders was a show and he never disappointed to bring a lot of effort into the Raiders’ defense.

Mateo Bueno 28’ said, “I think it’s kind of crazy that [Maxx Crosby] failed his physical and how he was sent back to the Raiders. Honestly he is a great player, but I think a new home would’ve been better for him. But the Raiders have a whole new squad this year and he is going to do a lot of great things for the Raiders.”
As a Raider fan myself, the last couple of years haven’t really been fun to watch the Raiders lose almost every game, but to watch Crosby was really interesting because of how good of a defensive lineman he is. When I was first notified that he was traded to the Ravens’ I was pretty disappointed to see one of my favorite players going to another team, but that meant that the Raiders would be adding better defensive players to the team since the trade would’ve made more room on the team salary. But that wasn’t the case because only a week later, Raiders fans were informed on social media that Crosby would possibly be coming back to Las Vegas after his failed physical.
If Crosby potentially comes back to play for the Raiders for the 2026-27 NFL season, the Raiders would actually have a good defensive lineup including Crosby himself and some free agents the Raiders picked up during the off-season, including LB Quay Walker and DE Kwity Paye. It is rumored that Crosby will sign with another team, like the Dallas Cowboys, who are still interested in signing the defensive sensation, but Crosby reportedly said on X, “Everything happens for a reason. Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. I’m a Raider. I’m back.”
Anders Curtis 28’ said, “I think the Ravens missed out on one of the best defensive ends to ever do it and it’s great for the Las Vegas Raiders that [Maxx Crosby] will be coming back and staying there. Although, I think a new start with a new team could’ve been more beneficial for him but Raiders fans still should be grateful.”
