On Monday, April 9 Ventura High School’s boys tennis team played Dos Pueblos High School, and on Tuesday, April 10 the team played Santa Barbara High School. On Wednesday, April 11 the team was supposed to play Channel Islands High School, however, CIHS did not show up for the match. To end off the week, the team played Nordhoff High School on Friday April 13, beating them too.
When asked how the team performed in their matches, sophomore Tyler Biedebach said, “We have not lost [a game] yet.”
According to sophomore Aaron Palmisano, SBHS is the hardest team for them to play against. “It comes down to like two points,” said Palmisano.
When asked how he feels about the team this season, Biedebach stated, “Really good, I don’t think the team has been this good in a long time.” Palmisano added, “As a team we are doing great. It has been a pretty successful season so far.”
When asked how Palmisano feels about his individual performance, he replied, “I think I’m doing good with my partner, [freshman] Francesco Antognetti. I mean some of the matches are hard and we do not win every [match] but we contribute to the team and it is a team effort.”
The boys tennis team has yet to play San Marcos High School, however if they beat them, they will be winning in league. As for the rest of the season, the team is nearing an end with only one more home match and two more away matches.
