“It’s been up and down but mostly it’s been a pretty good season. Broke the school record a couple of times and they’re a lot of fun to coach,” added Adams, referencing the school records on the Buenaventura Golf Course and the Olivas Golf Course.
On September 26, VHS played Oxnard on the Buenaventura Golf Course and beat the 2011 record with 216 strokes. Then on October 3, VHS played Buena High School and beat the Olivas Golf Course record with 230 strokes.
When asked about how the team was doing in regards to the Channel League, Adams said, “They’re right in the middle of the pack right now. I think we’re probably about second place [in Channel League] this year.”
The VHS girls golf team will play their next match on October 10 against Dos Pueblos at Glen Annie Golf Course.
