Students dressed in white to show their school spirit in accordance with the student section theme of white out. There were also performances from the dance, cheer and hip-hop team, along with the marching band at the halftime show. Hip-hop dancer Jaryn Gregory ‘28 said, “We’ve been doing a lot of cleaning for our dances. We finished learning the dance last week, so this week we really had to lock in and clean every single movement.”

The student section plays a role in the environment of the games as well. Lily Brown ‘26 said, “[My favorite part about the game is the] student section and hanging out with friends and we won.”
The student section is responsible for cheering on their player, but they can also create a more enjoyable game for other students. Brown said, “[What makes the student section so special are the] superfans in the front who do the chants and bring stuff for everyone.”
The VHS superfans intend to make sure those who attend the game have a good time and experience the atmosphere of a spirited football game.
Gregory ‘28 said, “I would say my favorite [part of Friday night lights] is being with my friends and socializing.”
The VHS cheer team provided encouragement at the game where they cheered on the VHS football team throughout the entire night. The cheer team also kicked off the halftime show with their performance, where cheerleader Tiffany Ortega ‘29 said, “[My favorite part of performing at half time was] probably all the dances, it’s just really fun.”
