Melina Bentiez, senior president of entertainment committee said, " I picked the days based off of how much participation we would receive. For Monday we decided on PJ day because it’s iconic and a must when it comes to spirit week. For Tuesday we decided on rep your sport day so people could wear their favorite sports team hats, shirts, jerseys and connect with one another. For Wednesday we knew it was a must in honor of breast cancer awareness month and felt most people would enjoy it. For Thursday I heard a lot of feedback from other classmates saying it’d be fun to do a 2000s day and I thought why not and gave it a try. For Friday we wanted to make it fun with class colors and tie it into the Greek theme for homecoming."

For Friday's theme students were asked to wear colors by their grade. On the official Ventura High School ASB instagram, @asb_vhs, a post was made with the title "Friday's Class Colors". The post says, "Freshman: White Sophomores: Black Juniors: Green Seniors: Gold." Senior Josh Calles wore his gold football jersey for Friday's theme. Rachel Gonzalez

For Friday, senior Diane Villalobos wore her gold "V HOUSE" T-Shirt in spirit of Friday's theme. Diane feels that Friday's theme is "Kinda wack and could've been been better."

Junior Jacob Crites told The Cougar Press that his favorite part about the 2000s is the style wearing his 2000s inspired outfit for spirit week.

Wearing her 2000s inspired outfit, Senior Jayla Ramirez said, "it [Thursday's theme] allows people to be people to be creative."

Seniors Joey Golden and Sophia Tyner posed in their 2000s outfits after 3rd period. Golden's favorite part about the 2000s is the music. Tyner's favorite part about the 2000s is Channing Tatum.

Getting the vending machines to work at Ventura High School is a hassle to put it nicely. Everyday students line up with their money and it is always a guessing game whether the vending machine will drop the item that is bought. When the vending machines aren't working, students are lucky to be given back their money. It’s never guaranteed. Because of this students cannot grab a small snack before class or for nutrition break. Students are wasting their time waiting in line for a quick bite and we are regularly met with a handful of nothing. What's up with that?
